The Sinai Scuba Diving Center would love to introduce you to their Bedouin friends and their lifestyle. The Bedouins are the original inhabitants of the Sinai Peninsula and their lifestyle differs from the Egyptian lifestyle. They have lived in the desert in “beet shar” (house of hair, i.e. tent) for centuries and part of them still do. To get an idea about this Culture and their traditions is an absolute must.
Although Sinai Scuba is located in Sharm Sheikh we can also help you see one of the most famous and biggest Capitals of the world. You will see Egypt’s biggest monument and the last remaining wonder of an ancient world, the pyramids of Giza. Moreover you visit the Sphinx, the Egyptian Museum, institutions of papyrus and perfume and the biggest market in the Middle East, Khan el Khalili.
The colored canyon derives its name from the layers of bright, multi-colored sandstone that resemble paintings on its steep narrow walls and is magnificently beautiful.
In the morning we will pick you up from your hotel in Sharm el Sheikh to start a lovely jeep ride through the Sinai desert with its metamorphic granite mountains. The scenery on this ride is real spectacular. We will travel to Nuweiba , 3km outside of Nuweiba we will start our off road drive to the beginning of the decent into the colored canyon.
Would you like to enjoy the thrill of diving even if you do not have any experience?
If you are 10 years or older and you are fit for diving, you can safely do it. It is called an Introductory Dive and it gives people the chance to dive without taking a course.
How will this be done?
First, we will explain to you the basic knowledge that is needed to dive safely under instructor supervision and your instructor will give you a briefing about the dive. Your professional Sinai Scuba diving instructor will be with you at all times under water and he/ she will show you the amazing reef and marine life in the Red Sea. If would you like to, you can make another dive with the instructor on the same trip!
Before or after a day of diving or snorkeling, a nice way to change the scenery is to take a quad bike trip into the Sinai desert.
For two hours you will ride through the sandy desert on your own quad bike, pass through the mountains stopping at a Bedouin village to drink tea, listening to your own echo in the echo temple and (depending on the time of the day) watch the sun set or rise over the magnificent Sinai Mountains.
The Sinai Scuba Diving Center organizes day trips to the Ras Mohamed national park by car.
The National Park at Ras Mohamed lies where the Gulf of Suez meets the Gulf of Aqaba at Sinai's southern extremity. Declared in 1983 with an area of 97 km², it has since grown to an area of 480 km² and includes marine and terrestrial areas at the Ras Mohamed Peninsula and the island of Tiran, and all shorelines between the main Sharm el Sheikh Harbor and the southern boundary of the Nabq protected area. The park is notable of its sharply defined raised fossil coral platforms 15.000 till 2 million years old. The more recent fossil reefs show similar species and structures as present today.
An early start is required for this full day trip to the monastery of St Catherine. The Monastery lays in between the high mountains of Sinai about 240km from Sharm El Sheikh. On the way you stop for a visit in a Bedouin village where there is an opportunity to buy souvenirs. You will then visit the monastery. Inside the monastery you will find the old chapel of Helena, the Moses well, the burning bush and the buildings where the monks live.
While you are in Sharm El Sheikh enjoy a day trip by plane to visit the famous archeological sites in Luxor, the Karnak temple, the Luxor Temple and West Theben with the Valley of the kings .
