The Sinai Scuba Diving Center organizes day trips to the Ras Mohamed national park by car.
The National Park at Ras Mohamed lies where the Gulf of Suez meets the Gulf of Aqaba at Sinai's southern extremity. Declared in 1983 with an area of 97 km², it has since grown to an area of 480 km² and includes marine and terrestrial areas at the Ras Mohamed Peninsula and the island of Tiran, and all shorelines between the main Sharm el Sheikh Harbor and the southern boundary of the Nabq protected area. The park is notable of its sharply defined raised fossil coral platforms 15.000 till 2 million years old. The more recent fossil reefs show similar species and structures as present today.
The arid desert terrain of sand dunes, gravel plains, fossilized corals and granite mountains is home to a number of rare mammal species: Dorcas gazelle, Nubian ibex and red fox. Easier to spot are the resident birds like terns, herons, gulls and ospreys. Thousands of white storks pass through Ras Mohammed each year, heading south during September/October and back north during April/May. The park has about 85 species of flora, including mangroves.
As well as visiting the amazing sites for snorkeling, we will also visit the Mangroves, the hidden lake, the salt lake and the crack and we will climb up to the cliff of Sharks Observatory to have a nice overview of the whole Ras Mohamed peninsula. You will also hear wonderful legends and myths connected with Ras Mohammed.
Take the opportunity to Scuba dive and snorkel on the beautiful beach at Ras Mohammed.
You will have a lovely barbeque lunch on the beach.
