St. Katherine Monastery

An early start is required for this full day trip to the monastery of St Catherine. The Monastery lays in between the high mountains of Sinai about 240km from Sharm El Sheikh. On the way you stop for a visit in a Bedouin village where there is an opportunity to buy souvenirs. You will then visit the monastery. Inside the monastery you will find the old chapel of Helena, the Moses well, the burning bush and the buildings where the monks live.

Optional you can visit the museum with a very nice selection of the treasures of the monastery. After visiting the monastery you can walk up the hill opposite it, to get a fantastic view of the monastery and its surroundings. Lunch is in the village of St Catherine’s. On the way back in the afternoon you will visit Dahab, a Bedouin village on the coast where you will have some time for shopping or just to have a drink in one of the restaurants on the beach.
