• Hotel shuttle bus
please check with your hotel reception; most hotels offer a shuttle bus service to central points.
• Taxis
Taxis have an identification number attached to the dashboard and are available at anytime and at any place. Usually they line up in front of the hotels or restaurants. You can also stop empty taxis on the street by waving your arm. It is a good idea to be informed about prices before actually entering the taxi.
• Pick-ups
You will find these trucks in Sharm El Sheikh, cruising around offering to give you a lift. They try to work the same as taxis, but are not licensed to carry any guests.
• Mini-bus
These shuttle between Sharm El Sheikh and Nabq area as well as up to the Hadaba Cliff. As the main transportation for locals they are very cheap 1-3 LE.
• Car rental
There are numerous companies offering car rental. Check with your hotel reception.
A standard car will cost approx. US$50 per day with 100 km free mileage included.
Warning: Be aware, driving habits are special.

By airplane
Sharm El Sheikh has an international airports (360 1140) about 10km north of Na’ama Bay, where weekly charters from all over Europe fly to. Microbuses charge E£2 between the airport and Na’ama Bay or Sharm el-Sheikh; taxis charge E£20/40.

Egypt Air flies daily to and from Sharm El Sheikh.
EgyptAir (366 1056) open from 9am-9pm) has four daily flights from Sharm to Cairo (E£733, one hour) and two flights per week to Luxor (E£530, 50 minutes).
By Bus
The bus station is between Na’ama Bay and Sharm el-Sheikh.

By ferry boat
A luxury high-speed ferry operated by International Fast Ferries Co www.internationalfastferries.com runs between Sharm el-Sheikh and Hurghada (1½ hr) four times a week. Tickets can be bought from travel agencies or the port ferry office, two hours before departure.
M/V Red Sea Jet, from United Company for Marine Lines, covers the route Sharm el Sheikh - Hurghada - Sharm el Sheikh in about three hours each way. The motor vessel carries only passengers.
Tickets can be purchased directly at the Red Sea Jet offices located in Hurghada and Sharm el Sheikh international harbour minimum two hours before departure.
In Sharm el Sheikh tickets are also available at Menatour office, Mariott Mountain Hotel, Naama Bay. The office is open every day from 10 am till 9 pm, except on Friday from 2 pm till 9 pm. For more information call Menatour at 069.3600936.

The ferry schedule is kept on time, beside rare days when it can be canceled due to rough weather conditions.
Taxis to Na’ama Bay cost E£25 from outside the port compound. Inside the compound, they cost double.
A high-speed ferryboat leaving from Nuweiba to Aqaba connects Egypt with Jordan. The departure time is at 11:00 every day, the timetable is a little flexible. Tickets can be bought locally (ask at the harbor for the ticket office, somebody will guide you).
From Cairo
From Cairo you can either book a flight or take a bus (low budget) at approximate. LE 80 ($ 14-15)The bus ride is 6 to 7 hours to Sharm (500km)
There is one main bus station in Cairo called Abassea. Taxi drivers will know it. To Sharm El Sheikh the main carriers are the East Delta Bus company, Superjet and El Gouna, the latter being the better choice. Seats may be reserved up to two days in advance. Although bus times may change without notice, departures are frequent so finding a bus is not a problem.
Most international airports in Egypt are equipped with baggage trolleys available free of charge. You will be asked for “bakschisch”, don’t give more than 2 LE. Duty Free shops are available at the airport as well as in town. You can only purchase duty free articles within 24 hours after arrival.
